To ask the Minister for the Economy for an update on the work of the US Net Zero Advisory Board.

The US Net Zero Advisory Board was launched on 1st October 2024 with the support of Joe Kennedy III. The Board is comprised of leaders in Net Zero industries who bring immense knowledge and expertise and are tasked with enhancing international awareness of the North’s green economy and Net Zero strengths. The Board is already adding value for local companies by providing insights on the US market, making introductions and helping to raise the profile of the North’s green economy. Invest NI’s green economy team continues to proactively engage with the Board, with the most recent Board meeting held on 20th February 2025. The Board is expected to play a crucial role in fostering collaboration, with ongoing discussions focused on the most effective strategies to strengthen international partnerships. Efforts are also aimed at positioning the North as a leading destination for global green investment while identifying new market opportunities both locally and internationally. Board members are engaged in a voluntary capacity based on their connection to the North and their willingness to support the growth of the North’s Green Economy.
