Answer
Delivering additional renewable electricity generation is complex, demanding a careful balance between security of supply, affordability, and legislative compliance.
It requires joined-up working, across government and with our delivery partners. My Department does not hold all the levers, so collaboration is essential to unlock progress.
The Energy Strategy Action Plan 2025 outlines a range of actions my Department is taking forward this year to increase the levels of renewable electricity generation.
To drive progress, my Department has appointed a dedicated Project Director through the Strategic Investment Board. The Project Director is providing strategic leadership and building effective relationships across departments, industry, and delivery partners. They are working with key stakeholders to shape a practical roadmap that will drive success.
