Answer
The recent racially motivated violence was wholly unacceptable and not representative of the values underpinning our democratic society, including respect for the rule of law, peaceful expression and the rights and safety of all members of our community.
We made this clear in our Executive statement of 10 June 2026; whilst everyone has the right to protest peacefully, violence will not be tolerated.
We remain committed to working with Executive colleagues and supporting the Police Service of Northern Ireland and other agencies in protecting communities, upholding the law and ensuring that this is a safe, welcoming and inclusive place for all.
