Answer
I am very aware that the appearance of Finaghy Railway Bridge is a significant issue for the local community and my Department is continuing to work closely with Belfast City Council (BCC) to develop proposals to take forward this improvement project.
My Department is presently consulting with Translink and has engaged the original designer and manufacturer of the bespoke bridge parapet system to undertake a detailed assessment of the feasibility and costs of a number of potential options. When this work is complete and costings become available later this financial year, my officials will liaise with their BCC counterparts to discuss the way forward.
