Answer
My Department has been operating in a difficult financial environment for a number of years and this has had a significant impact on its ability to deliver essential services such as road maintenance.
Whilst there are many roads that would undoubtedly benefit from investment, due to a limited budget, resurfacing work must be taken forward through the prioritisation of those deemed most in need of intervention.
Unfortunately there are no plans to upgrade and resurface footways in Locksley Park as part of the 2024/25 resurfacing programme.
Details of planned resurfacing works for 2024/25 are provided in the Department’s Annual Report to Belfast City Council which will be presented to Council on 25th November 2024.
Officials will continue to undertake regular inspections of Locksley Park and to repair defects in accordance with the Department’s current maintenance policy.
