Answer
Greenways are generally council led with my Department providing grant funding of up to 50% of the capital costs of approved projects. Belfast City Council is considering the findings of a recently completed preliminary feasibility study on a proposed Blackstaff Greenway and my officials will continue to work positively with the Council on any future development of those proposals.
The Belfast Cycling Network Delivery Plan sets out a plan for prioritised delivery of active travel infrastructure in Belfast, however future delivery will also be informed by developments such as the Eastern Transport Plan. My Department would welcome discussions with the organisers of the FIFA Women's World Cup 2035 to explore any potential opportunities for collaborative working that may exist.
