Answer
Cycling infrastructure improvements in Belfast are being delivered in accordance with the Belfast Cycling Network Delivery Plan. My Department is currently developing proposals in the Finaghy area as part of the West Belfast Greenway Phase 2. When complete, this project will connect Blacks Road, Finaghy Road North, and Kennedy Way. Preliminary design is in the early stages and public engagement will be arranged when the proposals have been suitably developed.
West Belfast Greenway Phase 1 will connect Kennedy Way to the existing Forth Meadow Greenway and the existing facilities along the Westlink to provide a connection to Belfast City Centre. Detailed design proposals are being developed for that scheme with a view to delivery by the end of 2025, subject to satisfactory completion of the planning process and availability of future funding. Delivery of West Belfast Greenway Phase 2 will follow completion of Phase 1.
